Professor, School of Social Work · Federal University of Rio de Janeiro
Rhaysa Ruas is a scholar of social reproduction, racialisation, value and state violence in Brazil. Her work examines how life-making is shaped by racial capitalism, state power and the unequal organisation of labour and social reproduction.
Her research brings social reproduction theory into dialogue with Brazilian social theory, Black radical thought and debates on the reproduction of life under conditions of violence and dispossession.
